September Workouts
With much fun the day was starting to get cold and dry, David Monroe was set to ride retired stallion Prancing in the Darkness and Terri was set to ride Secret's Surprise. Both favored the turf track however one was Grade One favorite and the other still processing the tracks. Terri needed Ursa to be out there more and she would have a chance. She was entered in the Green Mile for the third week of September and would fight dearly for her leadership. Her last encounter with Paranormal Hunter was not an easy task. Prancing in the Darkness came in rather late but the stallion seemed rather happy to get out of the stalls and back to work.
The chestnut filly stood calmly waiting for the retired stallion to approach as she whinnied with his presence. Ursa was taking a huge shot here but that's what some things in life took, a chance at something great. The two were in place Prancer clearly standing taller than Ursa bobbed his head not wanting to stand still before he started off on his own and Ursa soon followed not liking the grass fragments aiming at her from below. Ursa took off with haste falling on the outside following the bay stallion. Ursa was a closer she waited to find her stride for the last minute. Prancer slowed his pace to precede Ursa to push forward. The stallion was well trained and ignored the commands of his jockey to aid Ursa to move at a steady pace.
The Chestnut filly made sure to keep Terri at a happy stance on her back pushing herself forward when the turn came along she decided to turn loose and enjoyed every second of it. Prancer nickered with the push looking the filly in the eyes as he pushed her at an even faster pace until they were told to slow down and relax with the pulling back of the reins. Ursa lifted her head with the sudden pull and began to slow down. "Slow down Ursa not so fast girl." Terri said as she turned back to see David slowing Prancer to a trot as Terri did the same.
"What a rush that was." Terri said rubbing Ursa. "Yeah it was, Prancer did his own thing though." David said trotting the stallion off the track as Terri decided to walk Ursa around a bit more to get her to calm down from the adrenaline. The Green Mile would take patience and hard work and she would be ready this time around.
